Status: Part Time Internship (Approximately 20 hours per week/flexible).
Salary: Hourly; depends on school credits and qualifications.

The Position
MAG is seeking a self-motivated, driven, team-oriented professional to support efforts by the Communication Division to tell MAG’s story through creatively constructed and visually engaging social media posts. Content may include text and graphics, videos, news releases, news blogs, and agency initiatives and campaigns.

Examples of responsibilities for this position include the production of high quality and engaging social media posts through graphics and other visuals such as photographs and videos and the ability to increase MAG’s following and online presence through social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn and additional platforms. This position will also require some knowledge of social media platform analytics and the ability to present them in an easy to understand and presentable format. In addition, this position will assist in creating monthly social media calendars for MAG’s social media platforms and assist with other activities as assigned.

The Candidate

  • The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge and skills:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license ID.
  • The ability to assist with social media content creation and tactics that will excite and engage existing followers and attract new followers across our channels.
  • Assist in the creation of weekly and monthly editorial calendars to promote agency brands on various social media websites.
  • Assist with creating and distributing agency content such as blog stories, infographics, videos and press releases on social media platforms.
  • Assist with tracking social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns for scalability.
  • Assist in generating analytics reports that track overall performance and inform social media strategy.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to function in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Strong written communication skills and sharp attention to detail.
  • The ability to take photos and videos using a cell phone or camera to share on social media.
  • The ability to provide examples of social media graphics, photography and video work from past social media campaigns.
  • The following skills are not required but a plus:
  • The ability to shoot and edit creative, short videos using mobile apps.
  • Knowledge of Canva graphic design tool.
  • Familiarity with Hootsuite social media marketing and management dashboard.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills a plus.

Experience and Education

  • Must demonstrate one of the following:
  • Be actively engaged in taking social media/digital communication courses at a qualified university, college, or arts program.
  • Proof of social media training through college or certification course.
  • Have relevant work experience in social media marketing or management.
