The Global Brand Marketing Team at GE is seeking a passionate, creative and proactive brand manager to help drive GE’s marketing strategy and lead the development of global brand campaigns. The Social Media Manager will play a critical role in leading the social strategy for the brand, creating connected experiences that engage audiences across key digital platforms, and telling the story of GE’s human impact around the world.
In this high-visibility role, you will help develop and implement social-led programs, cross-functional campaigns, and day-to-day content crafted to increase engagement with the GE brand. You will keep a pulse on trending conversations and social/community insights to connect the GE brand with modern audiences. You will partner closely with internal teams across Communications and Business Marketing to lead brief development and execution of social content that supports GE’s priority initiatives across the company.

Job Description

  • Delivers best-in-class, out-the-box social creative that aligns with GE communications and business priorities
  • Owns GE brand social media channels and editorial calendar, working with key partners on timing and messaging that fits within established narrative and channel guardrails
    • Brand campaign distribution across all Corporate and Brand social and digital channels
    • Daily programming and content management including GE Reports distribution, employee storytelling, and business news
    • Priority business support, partnering with colleagues in GBM, Communications and GE Businesses to integrate key technology into storytelling and programming
    • Supports the Corporate Communications function with content during key company moments: Earnings, Annual Report, etc.
  • Partners with award-winning media agencies and creative partners to deliver industry-leading digital content and programs that support the GE brand and business priorities
  • Delivers quick-turn creative needs for fast and efficient programming
  • Tracks and optimizes media efficiency and performance of initiatives — expands programs according to their success and discontinues programs missing performance thresholds
  • Stays current on latest trends in digital media and applies as appropriate
  • Builds and maintains relationships across GE Marketing and Communications to educate, develop and champion concepts for digital and social media marketing
  • Oversees channel security and community management for Corporate and Brand social channels


  • 5+ years of marketing experience, specifically in the social media marketing space
  • Expertise leading cross-platform digital content marketing initiatives
  • 5+ years of project management experience, ability to deliver accurately and on time


  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, social audiences and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios with creativity
  • Proven track record with creative content production and campaign development
  • Proficiency required with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency required with the ads dashboard and posting interfaces of major social platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
  • Strong project management and communication skills

  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills; ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously with appropriate sense of urgency
  • Ability to contribute to strategic discussions and dive deep into technical topics and industries
  • Manage and optimize agency, platform and vendor partner relationships for media execution, content design, development and production
  • Creative problem-solving skills, critical thinking and ability to give presentations and pitches
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with changing priorities
  • Willingness to take direction, but also work independently
  • Excellent attention to detail
