shopDisney is the global direct to consumer e-commerce retailer for TWDC, connecting audiences across the globe with exclusive, high quality merchandise from Disney Parks, Disney+ and nearly 100 years of content and storytelling. We are looking for a highly strategic, self-starter to lead global development of brand and retail marketing strategy, marketing campaigns, audience growth initiatives, and customer experience strategies to maximize growth across TWDC’s vertical retail channels. This is the opportunity to drive a significant marketing evolution and brand transformation, positioning shopDisney for the future including broadening the consumer base and growing audiences to new heights. This individual will partner with the VP, Marketing Strategy and various stakeholders including Marketing Operations, Customer Experience, PR, Technology, Product Development, Creative and Analytics to set the growth strategy, assess the addressable market, define strategic priorities and manage the overall marketing transformation roadmap. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished leader and a skilled cross-functional collaborator, with experience in digital media and/or consumer oriented services. The role requires a solid foundation in financial and business analysis, and the ability to rapidly synthesize complex information and drive strategic alignment across multiple stakeholder groups. You will be expected to be an analytical, business-minded marketing leader who is capable of setting strategic priorities but who also excels at executing tactically with a keen focus towards marketing optimization, KPI setting and tracking, and opportunity assessment. The Director of Marketing Strategy will report into the VP, CPC Marketing Strategy.
Drive shopDisney.com repositioning, brand development, messaging strategy and go to market strategy to relaunch the brand with consumers across the globe
Lead development of best in class holistic marketing strategies and integrated marketing plans across key franchises, seasons and the overall shopdisney consumer advertising with a focus on acquisition and retention.
Develop and implement key consumer journeys across web, mobile and app in partnership with shopDisney and TWDC stakeholders.
Develop 365 consumer strategies inclusive of competitive landscape, consumer research, psychographics, social and consumer trends, and TWDC content planning all with a focus on Diversity and Inclusion
Identify marketing and consumer opportunities, influence product and experience development and demonstrate subject matter expertise around guest demographics, specific markets, guest segments and target audiences to achieve growth goals
Develop strong communication and action plans to attract a wider audience to all markets and meet revenue targets
Lead global marketing alignment across consumer development, marketing strategy, planning, budget and marketing execution
Align target consumer needs with business opportunities and coordinate the tactical execution with Marketing Operations and other marketing partners
Articulates and integrates deep marketing knowledge to help inform communications strategies and diagnose performance of key business areas from end to end
- Partners extensively with Marketing Center of Excellence, Public Affairs, Walt Disney Imagineering product development, and individual business owners (Disney store, shopDisney, Commercialization, etc.)
Must have at least 10 years of marketing experience in e-commerce, entertainment, social media or related areas of marketing expertise
