Role Overview*

This role leads the Marketing, Public Relations, and Digital/Social Media teams for the Time Out Markets in North America. Leveraging in-market and above property resources, The Director of Marketing will provide framework and strategy for the growth and expansion of the Time Out Markets in North America while providing leadership of the diverse team of professionals within the marketing team. Using multiple marketing channels, this role will drive footfall and revenue across North America with the ultimate goal of cultivating lasting customer relationships and increasing lifetime value.

The Director of Marketing will also provide oversight over a focused team of industry professionals leading:

On-Property activations and special events

  • Digital audience acquisition, retention, and engagement through social media, digital display, and SEO.
  • Public Relations strategy, execution and agency management
  • CRM and Email Marketing Campaigns

The role will also serve as the primary liaison between Time Out Markets and the Time Out Media editorial team to advocate for the activities within the markets in all Time Out Publications. With particular emphasis on driving strategy, the position will also be responsible for achieving the overall marketing goals in the most targeted, trackable and efficient way possible within a predefined budget.

Key Responsibilities*

Work with individual market teams to set the marketing, PR and Digital Strategies to drive footfall and revenue through the market operations.

  • Develop and implement a cross-platform strategy linking the Market operations with Time Out Media to drive awareness across both platforms
  • Development and implement a marketing and PR strategy to attract TOM development and expansion opportunities.
  • Define and implement strategy for SEO, PPC and Affiliate activities to drive traffic and revenue to the markets.
  • Define and implement strategy for social media, community, blogs, affiliates etc to attract and retain new audience and consumers to the Time Out Markets.
  • Work with NA management teams to maximize online/offline acquisition targets and liaise with commercial teams to leverage existing partnerships
  • Manage Global CRM system for converting registrations to buyers and deliver repeat visits/purchases.
  • Ensure all messaging is on brand and within the Time Out Market guidelines, having significant input into the brand development in an online environment.
  • Develop, recruit and maintain highly effective results driven marketing organization
  • Provide analytics and reporting along with recommendations for optimization in each channel

Skills and Experience*

IN ADDITION TO SPECIFIC SKILLS:

  • Minimum of 8 years of leadership of an integrated marketing team focused on driving strategy and execution across multiple venues
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing (or related discipline) required
  • Familiarity with P&LStatements and the Ability to Translate Marketing Efforts into Concrete business strategies
  • Fluent in English. Spanish and French a plus
