The Social Media Marketing Director will lead the Marketing & Sales Team in creatively and strategically sharing and promoting Bishop Barron and Word on Fire Institute content via social media channels.
The Social Media Marketing Director reports directly to the Senior Director of Marketing & Sales, and ultimately to the Chief Executive Officer of Word on Fire Catholic Ministries.
Strategic and creative leadership of Bishop Barron and Word on Fire Social Media Accounts
We are looking for a self-motivated, growth-minded leader with a clear vision on how to engage with and grow our social media audiences, as well as increase our lead generation and sales efforts via social media.
Please Note: You will have support when it comes to technical administration, paid advertising, graphic design, and video production.
Ability to work together with the Social Media Manager and the rest of the Marketing and Sales team to ensure monthly marketing and sales goals are met.
Ability to work together with the Word on Fire Design Team and Production Team to acquire needed image and video assets.
Manage Bishop Barron and Word on Fire Social Media Accounts
Oversee the posting of all social media content on Bishop Barron and Word on Fire social media pages. This includes:
Regular daily/week posts
Content for sales/marketing, development, and Institute campaigns
Special posts and announcements
Word on Fire Facebook Community Group
Moderate the community and engage in the comments
Approve daily user-submitted posts
Post regular Word on Fire and Bishop Barron content in Community
Facebook and Instagram Stories
Make creative use of Facebook and Instagram stories on Bishop Barron and Word on Fire social media accounts
Spanish Social Media
Help reach out to Spanish communities and manage WOF en Espanol social media accounts
Manage Bishop Barron and Word on Fire Institute YouTube video posting
Comment Moderation and Engagement
Respond to and engage with post comments when necessary
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Familiarity with the Bible, Catechism of the Catholic Church, and magisterial teachings of the Catholic Church
5+ years experience in a social media role for a large platform or organization
Experience in a team leadership role
Commitment to the mission of Word on Fire, which is to draw people into or back to the Catholic Church
Expert-level copywriting skills
Can write good marketing copy
Expert-level writing and grammar skills
Creative problem-solver and thinker
Knowledgeable of social media marketing trends
Spanish as a first or second language
Has an appreciation for the beauty and dignity of the Word on Fire brand
Can multi-task on several projects during a given day
Can accomplish tasks quickly and efficiently
Can manage time effectively and efficiently
Can follow and develop standardized operating procedures
Ability to work on a team
