Investment marketing’s objective is to set Vanguard apart and inspire action by defining and amplifying our investment story. The group is organized into highly collaborative teams that dive deep into product category specific marketing strategy. The Investment Content Strategist serves as the heart of the development and execution of the category level marketing plan. They will:

• Act as a key contributor to the category level marketing plan with direct oversight of the editorial approach—strategy through execution.
• Partner with experts to create and maintain gold copy positioning that serves as the foundation of the category’s investment story.
• Act as the ‘voice’ of the category through codifying internal and external thought leadership into cohesive product marketing.
• Develop and execute on multi-touch content strategy—creating content that spans the purchase cycle.
• Collaborate with divisional peers on audience specific content marketing to maximize story amplification.

With renewed emphasis on telling our Vanguard investment story and a strong desire to be a leader in Active Fixed Income (AFI) products, we are looking to hire a dedicated Investment Content Strategist focused on product marketing for AFI.

In this role, you will:

• Create in-depth, compelling communications and positioning on a range of subjects, including Vanguard funds, products, and services; financial markets; the economy; regulatory matters; portfolio construction and theory, and internal communication topics.
• Display versatility in producing clear communications through a wide range of styles and channels, including responsive web pages, campaigns, ads, emails, presentations, blogs, videos, letters, articles, videos, and social media channels.
• Expertly presents and "sell" content and design solutions to senior management, project teams, partners, and stakeholders. Ensure the success of the strategy.
• Assume a leadership role on key projects for the department or cross departments that require data analytics and subject matter expertise, including responsive web pages, timely communications, campaigns, visioning, testing, and news.
• Provide creative direction and guidance on messaging and/or content strategy across mediums-working closely and collaboratively with designers, developers, marketing managers, and business leaders. Leads the creation of new approaches or processes with a 1-3 year outlook.
• Serve as mentor to less experienced writers by providing specific feedback on their copy, story ideas, new media formatting, and interviewing skills.

What it takes:

• Minimum five years related work experience.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
• CFP or CFA preferred, but not required.

Future of Work

During the pandemic, we transitioned to a work from home model for the majority of our crew and we continue to interview, hire, and on-board future crew remotely.

As we have developed the path forward, we have taken a thoughtful approach that both maximizes the advantages of working remotely and the many benefits of coming together and collaborating in a shared workspace. We believe that in-person interactions among our crew are important for preserving our unique culture and advantageous for the personal development of our crew.

When our Crew return to the office, many will work in our hybrid model. A smaller proportion of our crew will operate in the Work from Home work model (for example, field sales crew); or in the Work from Office model (for example, portfolio managers).
