You will advance how the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago (FRBC) engages digitally with broad public audiences through popular social media platforms and email communications. Your work includes managing the FRBC`s main social channels and executing the social media and email strategies of the Bank.
You will report to the Public Affairs Manager.
The level of work required is considered advanced. You will not have direct reports.
This position can work out of our Detroit or Chicago office on a hybrid model or remote.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• You will promote the FRBC`s online social networking and digital media accounts (i.e., LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) to support the Bank`s messaging, business operations, and communications goals
• You will solicit, write/create, and post content on social media of moderate complexity that reflects the tone and culture of the Bank, ensuring messages are effectively delivered and encourage readers to share posts with their social networks; this work includes collaborating with colleagues on video, photography, graphics, and other visual assets
• You will perform daily monitoring and social listening around the FRBC and related topics, while serving as the lead social channel manager for comments, mentions, and other engagements
• You will contribute to the strategic direction of the Bank`s social media and email activities to engage and inform the public and partners on the purpose, functions, and policy decisions of the FRBC, including building and contributing to initiative-focused activities
• You will write and execute successful email communications campaigns of moderate complexity that align with Bank brand standards, including optimizing email performance and helping to manage bank email lists
• You will track the performance of social and email marketing of moderate complexity through metrics and analytics, create and share regular reporting, and provide analysis and recommendations
• You will implement best-practice approach for creating advanced email templates, dynamic content, advanced testing methodologies, list segmentation, and deliverability for our Email Channel.
• Advanced knowledge of HTML, CSS and other web technologies, and hands-on experience with building email templates, performing testing and launching email campaigns.
• You will counsel FRBC business areas on social media and email outreach strategies of moderate complexity

Qualifications:

• Bachelor`s degree or work equivalent in journalism, communications, public relations or related communications field
• Five or more years of relevant work experience

Knowledge and Skills

• Expertise in social media with a track record of creating channel-specific content and managing and monitoring leading platforms
• Expertise in email marketing, including the development and execution of email campaigns or similar outreach
• Writing experience; interest in creating business communications through innovative, engaging storytelling
• Interest in banking, economics, community development and the Federal Reserve System
• Ability to digest complex, highly technical ideas and topics and use them to create widely understandable, engaging stories
• Ability to build and implement new HTML/CSS email and web templates
• Photo Editing and basic animation and video skills

Requirements
