General Description

The Director of Marketing is responsible for all marketing and communication efforts for the Denver Jewish Community Center (JCC). Working with the Board of Directors and Functional Department Leaders, this position will create and implement the marketing strategy to drive increased membership and participation in JCC programs and initiatives. This role will lead and manage the marketing team. This role will report directly to the JCC COO.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a high impact marketing strategy based on the organizations priorities
  • Translate the organizational annual goals and priorities into a marketing and communications strategy
  • Develop strategy and processes to coordinate campaign development and execution across channels, including results measurements and communication
  • Manage plans to optimize P&L by actively improving online and offline metrics across key sources of business (testing marketing variables including offer, copy/messaging, targeting and segmentation, and creative)
  • Manage customer retention and win-back strategies, including on-boarding and engagement communications
  • Partner with and leverage the JCC`s staff and Board members to meet marketing and communications goals
  • Manage the JCC`s external marketing consultants and build in-house capacity
  • Educate organization on market trends, industry landscape, market and competitive intelligence, strategic insights, category growth, and customer segmentation
  • Provide thought leadership for marketing ideas and tactics
  • Manage and support the creation of marketing materials
  • Conduct market research to identify target audiences and paths to reach each target
  • Conduct ongoing market research and track campaign analytics
  • Establish methods and track return on investment for all campaigns
  • Create marketing KPIs and be able to evolve and adapt approaches based on results
  • Determine the J`s public relations needs and implement a strategy
  • Oversee the J`s branding and website design
  • Stay abreast of trends in the non-profit, fitness, and marketing fields
  • Identify which technologies, tools, and strategies will help the J meet its marketing and communications goals
  • Ability to think broadly about JCC Denver`s position in the local marketplace; pursuit and leadership of longer-term goals
  • Participate in and contribute to organizational decision making as an active member of the senior team

  • Strong understanding of local marketplace and non-profit & fitness industries
  • Experience managing essential marketing systems (CRM, ESP, image libraries, digital asset database)
  • Strong attention to detail, rooted in a commitment to professional excellence

Basic Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Marketing Analytics, and/or Business Development
  • 2-3 years leading marketing function and team
  • 2-3 years experience in non-profit marketing function
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Proficient in all forms of marketing (social media, print, etc.)


Preferred Qualifications


  • Master’s Degree in Marketing, Marketing Analytics, and/or Business Development
  • 5+ years experience in non-profit marketing function
  • 5+ years experience leading marketing function and team


Benefits Overview

This full-time position is benefits-eligible. The JCC contributes a portion of medical, dental and vision plan premiums and pays for Basic Life Insurance & AD&D, Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability. There are additional voluntary benefit plans available. The JCC has a 401(K) Plan available for elective deferral contributions for employees over 21 years of age, with no waiting period. Paid Time Off is a day-one benefit, accrued based on years of service and in compliance with the Colorado Healthy Families & Workplaces Act.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 75% of the time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
