Primary Role

The Director of Membership Sales leads the prospecting and sales of membership sales with a positive attitude and focus on a culture of hospitality and mutual respect:

  • Meets/exceeds annual sales, revenue, and retention goals.
  • Consistently contributes to the member relations and communications activities as a critical stakeholder in the club’s overall success.
  • Serves as the club’s brand ambassador through interactions with members, prospects, the Board, Membership Committee, community influencers, and co-workers.
  • Provides critical support to the Membership Committee Chair, preparing ongoing reports on schedule and assisting in the facilitation of committee meetings.
  • Diligently and thoroughly tracks and reports on all ongoing membership activity, including but not limited to prospect pipeline, sales by category and full member equivalent (FME) and resignations.
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal presentation skills, is detail oriented, and utilizes exceptional time management expertise in managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

Essential Duties

  • Develops and executes marketing strategy and tactics that enhances the awareness of the club’s brand and communicates its unique differentiators, working collaboratively with onsite club management, Board, Membership Committee, and the Troon corporate team.
  • Leads the development and execution of the club’s Membership Master Plan, related to attracting qualified leads, engaging prospects in the sales journey, and connecting members to the club and one another.
  • Conducts prospecting and brand-awareness activities such as community and realtor relations, and member activities that support sales referrals.
  • Drives the content development and facilitates production of all membership-related materials, including but not limited to sales, prospect communications, member communications, website, social media channels, and new member orientation.
  • Implements and maintains the CRM tool and Membership Activity Report.
  • Oversees all membership paperwork/documentation activity related to sales, upgrades, downgrades, and resignations. Creates the incoming new member file and ensures the accurate completion of designated documentation. Maintains the member files, and accurately records/records pertinent activity.
  • Leads the development and delivery of the thorough onboarding of new members, ensuring a structured process, team approach, and professional presentation so that new members understand every element of the club experience and how to use it.
