Job Summary: The Director of Strategic Digital Marketing is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic digital marketing plans for the athletics department.
Additional Department Summary: The Director of Strategic Digital Marketing is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic digital marketing plans for the athletics department. The responsibilities include generation of revenue through the creation and administration of marketing, promotional and digital media plans to sell tickets and merchandise while capitalizing on other internal opportunities; maximize digital sponsorship opportunities; increasing brand, event, and awareness of pertinent athletics information through digital-related channels; managing the content calendars for digital media; providing consistent reporting on the effectiveness of digital efforts; and supporting external and internal partnerships. Under the overall guidance of the Associate Athletics Director for Strategic Marketing, this position will: assist the Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing and Fan Development with sales, promotional, and fan development digital marketing efforts; collaborate with the Director of Trademark Licensing in developing the strategic digital efforts of the Trademark Licensing Office; will support the additional digital marketing/media efforts of the athletics department; and oversee the Assistant Director of Strategic Digital Marketing along with the digital student worker program.
Required Minimum Qualifications: B.S. in Business, Marketing, Management, Public Relations, Sports Management or other related field and three (3) years of experience within intercollegiate athletics, professional sports organization, or other related marketing field OR M.S. in Business, Marketing, Management, Public Relations, Sports Management or other related field and one (1) year of experience in intercollegiate athletics, professional sports organization, or other related marketing field.
Skills and Knowledge: Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, Adobe Software products and other related software.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working within an intercollegiate athletics department and/or professional sports organization in a marketing, tickets sales, development, public relations and/or communications role with strong core work responsibilities focused on social media, email marketing, digital advertising, and revenue generation.
